In preparation for the upcoming gubernatorial election on November 11th in Kogi State, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) kicked off its campaign with a massive rally on Sunday, led by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The rally took place at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre in Lokoja and saw the presence of prominent APC figures including APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Governor Yahaya Bello, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, and the APC’s gubernatorial candidate in Kogi, Ahmed Ododo, alongside other party leaders.
During his address, Shettima called upon the people of Kogi to cast their votes for Ododo, emphasizing the importance of continuity in governance. He also highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s strong commitment to rejuvenating the Ajaokuta Steel Company and stressed that having an APC governor in Kogi would expedite this process.
Shettima underscored the President’s dedication to this goal by creating a dedicated ministry and appointing Kogi native Alhaji Shuaib Audu as the Minister of Steel Development, aimed at accelerating the revival of the Ajaokuta Steel Company and other steel-related enterprises in the nation.
