American rapper Kanye West has urged President Donald Trump to pardon music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is facing a series of serious legal charges. Diddy, currently in a New York jail, is facing more than 30 civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault and misconduct.
The hip-hop mogul is also awaiting a federal criminal trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
Taking to his X page on Thursday, Kanye, who has often sparked controversy with his outspoken comments, wrote: “@realDonaldTrump, please free my brother Puff.”
Diddy was arrested by Homeland Security in September of last year on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and interstate transportation for prostitution.
Despite the serious nature of the allegations, he has denied all charges, pleading not guilty during his court appearance on September 17, 2024. However, his request for bail has been rejected twice.
Recently, it was reported that Diddy was rushed to a hospital in Brooklyn after suffering a knee injury, though he was returned to his cell after receiving treatment.
His trial is scheduled to begin later this year.
