The Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja has ruled that the removal of Mudashiru Obasa as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly was unconstitutional, illegal, and null and void.
In its judgment delivered Wednesday, the court invalidated all proceedings and resolutions from the January 13, 2025 session, during which Obasa was ousted and Mojisola Meranda was installed as Speaker.
Obasa had taken legal action to challenge his removal, arguing that due process was not followed. The court has now upheld his claim, reinstating him as the legitimate Speaker.
