Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran popularly known as Jandor has reaffirmed his determination to contest the 2027 governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
It is reported that the Deputy Governor of the State, Dr. Kadir Obafemi Hamzat was said to have been anointed as the consensus candidate.
However the leadership of the party insisted there would be a primary for all aspirants.
Despite the widely reported endorsement of the Deputy Governor, Adediran who was PDP candidate in the 2023 election said he would contest the governorship primary with other aspirants.
The development comes as members of the JAGABAN-JANDOR 2027 Movement, largely made up of young Lagosians, unveiled a stakeholders’ funding initiative aimed at pooling resources to purchase the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the APC primaries.
At an event held in Lagos, the Central Coordinator of the group, Lady Funke Ijayekunle, said the move reflects a collective resolve by supporters to back Jandor’s ambition through grassroots contributions.
“This is not an individual effort. It is a mission owned by the people, powered by grassroots participation and strengthened by shared sacrifice,” she said.
