The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a delay in the start of registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which was initially scheduled for yesterday.
The new registration date is now set for Monday, February 3.
In a statement from JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the delay was attributed to the need for “essential adjustments to its registration templates.”
He further explained that the postponement was also necessary to allow the board to conduct a thorough review of certain Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres that had been found using misleading facilities to gain approval.
JAMB also acknowledged the recent suspension of specific law programs at some universities, which had been brought to its attention by the Council for Legal Education. The board stated, “These adjustments come in light of the recent suspension of certain law programmes at selected universities, as submitted to the Board by the Council for Legal Education.”
While JAMB expressed regret over any disruptions the delay may cause, they offered an apology to candidates and other stakeholders: “The board acknowledges the disruption this may cause to candidates and other stakeholders and sincerely apologises for any inconvenience.”
