The Independent National Electoral Commission has warned Nigerians about a fraudulent website falsely claiming that nationwide online voter registration is currently open.

INEC said the website, pvc-inecnigeria-org.blogspot.com, is misleading members of the public by announcing a supposed registration period from September 28 to October 27, 2026.

The commission advised Nigerians not to visit the platform or provide personal details through it, warning that information submitted on the site could be collected and misused.

INEC clarified that the nationwide voter registration exercise ended on July 26, 2026. It therefore described claims that a fresh online registration exercise is underway as false.

The fake platform reportedly advertises what it calls the “Final Phase of Nationwide Online Voter Card Registration” and claims to offer services including updating voter information, changing polling units and replacing lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards.

It also falsely states that voter registration and PVC delivery are free.

INEC urged Nigerians to exercise caution and rely only on information released through the commission’s official communication channels when seeking updates about voter registration and other electoral activities.

The commission’s warning comes as the circulation of the fake website could expose unsuspecting members of the public to the loss or misuse of sensitive personal information.
