A South East youth group, the South East Progressive Ambassadors (SEPA), has urged the Igbo people to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. The group emphasized that it would be to the disadvantage of the South East region not to back Tinubu, highlighting the importance of building strategic alliances.

In a statement signed by SEPA convener John CDO Ikeotuonye and secretary Dr. Justin Ogoo Nwankwo, the group expressed optimism that the people of the zone are increasingly embracing Tinubu’s message of renewed hope. They said, “The message of renewed hope of President Bola Tinubu has started sinking gradually, and by 2027, the people would vote massively for him.”

SEPA described Tinubu as a leader showing “immense courage” in tackling issues such as the diversion of funds by state governments and delays in remitting funds, which they believe will enhance local government accountability and development.

Calling on young professionals and progressives in the South East to unite, SEPA stated, “We call on young professionals and progressive ambassadors willing to make a difference by joining President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR to reintegrate, reconcile and reconstruct the South East Region… We therefore resolve and advise Ndi-Igbo that 2027 must not catch South East Region unawares! We must be prepared to key into the Renewed Hope Agenda, and position for strategic and progressive alliance with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

The group cited key developments such as the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), appointments of special advisers for community liaison, and Tinubu’s official visits to the South East states as evidence of the president’s commitment to addressing the region’s challenges.

“Following the tide of events, it is evident that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the capacity and will achieve his promises to Nigeria. We believe in Tinubu to restructure and recover the Nigerian state from failure,” the statement concluded.
