Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has reaffirmed his loyalty to the President, saying allegations linking him to the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) will not affect his commitment to his duties.
Gbajabiamila spoke on Saturday at his 2026 mega empowerment programme at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.
He said the controversy had tested him but expressed appreciation to Nigerians who supported him while investigations into the allegations were ongoing.
Gbajabiamila said the police, Department of State Services and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission cleared him of wrongdoing after their investigations.
He also praised Tinubu for insisting on due process rather than acting on the allegations before the investigations were concluded.
According to him, his long-standing working relationship with the President gave Tinubu confidence that he was not involved in the allegations.
Gbajabiamila further said attempts to intimidate or distract him would not stop him from carrying out the responsibilities assigned to him by the President.
He also warned individuals using his name to defraud people or misrepresent him, saying they would eventually face legal consequences.
The Chief of Staff said his political relationship with Tinubu had lasted for several years, adding that he remained loyal even when some of the President’s political decisions did not align with his personal wishes.
The controversy arose after Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claimed to be the Director-General of the purported PFIPC, accused Gbajabiamila of receiving ₦400 million and requesting another ₦200 million in connection with an alleged appointment.
Gbajabiamila denied the allegations and said he had no personal, official or professional relationship with Adeyemi.
The Presidency subsequently disowned the PFIPC, stating that the organisation was not established by the Federal Government, while Tinubu directed an investigation into the group, the alleged appointment and related documents.
The House of Representatives also investigated the matter and said it found no evidence that Gbajabiamila authorised or participated in the activities of the purported organisation. The committee further said the appointment letter presented by Adeyemi was fake.
Gbajabiamila said he remained committed to Tinubu’s administration and its Renewed Hope agenda despite the controversy.
