The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has said Nigeria’s next president has already been ordained by God as the country moves toward the 2027 general elections.

He made the remark during a workers’ meeting at the Redemption City along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway on Saturday, where he emphasized that the outcome of the election ultimately rests on divine will rather than human calculation.

According to him, while citizens can participate in the political process, they should remember that God remains sovereign over national affairs and determines the course of events.

Adeboye urged Nigerians not to be overwhelmed by political anxiety but to remain calm, prayerful, and peaceful as election activities gradually build up across the country.

The cleric also addressed recent comments by Pastor Isaac Omolehin, who reportedly described Adeboye, Bishop David Oyedepo, and Pastor William Kumuyi as fathers of Christians in Nigeria. Adeboye rejected the label, clarifying that his spiritual responsibility is limited to his denomination.

He noted that the leadership of Christians nationwide rests with the Christian Association of Nigeria, whose president serves as the recognised representative of Christians in the country.

Adeboye further dismissed social media claims suggesting that the RCCG has political ties with the ruling All Progressives Congress, insisting that the church maintains independence and continues to speak out on issues affecting Nigerians, including economic hardship.

He added that if the Christian Association of Nigeria ever calls for a peaceful protest over governance concerns, he would join, stressing that his stance is guided by principle rather than politics. He recalled participating in a protest during the administration of former President **Goodluck Jonathan.

Adeboye also stated that although politicians are free to attend church programmes at the Redemption Camp, they would not be allowed to use the altar as a platform for political campaigning.
