At least 14 Palestinians were killed in separate Israeli airstrikes on Sunday, which brought the weekend death toll in the Gaza Strip to 102, according to Palestinian medics.

Health officials reported that an Israeli airstrike on a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza killed five people, while another strike in the northern Jabalia area claimed the lives of four others.

A third airstrike hit a police station in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, also killing five. It remains unclear if all of the victims were police officers.

Earlier in the day, the Gaza Health Ministry reported that Israeli strikes across the territory had killed at least 88 Palestinians and wounded more than 200 within the past 24 hours.

In Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, a family’s house was hit by an airstrike late on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of seven people.

On Sunday morning, search teams continued to dig through the rubble for four others thought to be trapped. “Three young men, the son’s wife, and three children are still here. We retrieved this cousin of mine.

Another cousin has been martyred and is now in the hospital. Approximately 11 people have been martyred here,” said Ammar Zuhd, a relative of the victims.

The Israeli military, on the other hand, reported killing dozens of Hamas militants in over 100 strikes on targets across Gaza during the weekend.

Among the targets hit were rocket-launching sites and individuals associated with attacks on Israel.

The Israeli military also confirmed the death of Islamic Jihad militant Sa’ed Saeed Zaki Dahnoun, who participated in the October 7th cross-border attack on Israel.

As the violence escalates, efforts to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas continue, with U.S. and Arab mediators working towards an agreement before U.S. President-elect Donald Trump takes office on January 20.

Israeli negotiators have resumed talks in Doha, facilitated by Qatari and Egyptian mediators, and the Biden administration is actively encouraging Hamas to reach a deal.

Since the onset of the Israeli military campaign in response to the October 7 Hamas attack, which killed 1,200 Israelis and took around 250 hostages, over 45,800 Palestinians have died in the ongoing conflict.
