Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, is set to officially open the 43rd edition of the Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA), which is currently being hosted in the state.
The opening ceremony will take place at 12:00 p.m. today, Sunday, at Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt.
The event is expected to draw a large crowd of dignitaries, including key officials from the federal government.
According to a statement from the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Joe Johnson, over 8,000 athletes representing 80 Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of the federal government, as well as Team Rivers, are taking part in the games
The competition has already seen intense action across various sports.
The governor will lead the ceremonial march past and will be on hand to receive salutes from the participating teams.
Competitions for the games are being held at several venues around Port Harcourt, including Sharks Stadium, the Civic Centre, Port Harcourt Club 1928, and the University of Port Harcourt.
