A former governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau, has left the Peoples Democratic Party to join the All Progressives Congress.
He announced the switch on Sunday, confirming his exit from the PDP and return to the ruling APC.
Shekarau, born on November 5, 1955, governed Kano from 2003 to 2011. He later served as Minister of Education between 2014 and 2015 and represented Kano Central in the Senate from 2019 to 2023.
