Changpeng Zhao, the former CEO of Binance, has predicted that only a small fraction of crypto investors will succeed in the long run.
In a recent response to crypto influencer EmperorBTC’s post on March 17, Zhao argued that the bar for success in the crypto market is extremely low, noting that “80% of investors are ‘tourists’ swayed by news,” and over 10% follow “foolish influencers.”
Zhao also emphasized that only 5% of participants truly understand crypto. “Even among the 5%, most can’t outperform Bitcoin,” he said. “4% actively trade or work on projects but won’t outperform Bitcoin. Holding BTC surpasses 99% of crypto participants and other asset types, by doing practically nothing.”
His comments highlight the risks facing many in the volatile crypto world, as the majority fail to achieve lasting success.
