Former P-Square singer, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has alleged that members of his family questioned the paternity of his son, Cameron, and treated his wife, Lola Omotayo-Okoye, badly.
Peter made the allegation in the eighth episode of his ongoing tell-all series, where he has been revealing details of his longstanding disagreements with his brothers, Paul and Jude Okoye.
According to the singer, the incident happened at his Omole residence when Cameron was about five months old.
He said his late mother, Josephine, travelled from Jos with some pastors and asked to speak privately with Lola. Peter alleged that Lola was treated harshly during the meeting and was asked by his mother and Jude to leave him alone.
Peter further claimed that Jude picked up a photograph of Cameron and questioned whether the child was actually his son.
He said the incident left Lola devastated and caused her to leave the house for several months.
The singer also alleged that his wife faced opposition during her pregnancy, claiming that Jude and Paul were against the pregnancy. He said there was also an attempt to question Cameron’s paternity through what he described as a forged email.
Peter added that former Cross River State Governor, Liyel Imoke, intervened during the dispute.
He said his mother later accepted Cameron as her biological son before her death, prayed over the boy’s photograph and asked Jude and Paul to apologise to Lola. However, Peter claimed the apology never took place.
The singer also dismissed claims that Lola had a bad relationship with his late mother, saying his wife cared for her during her final days in hospital.
Peter’s latest allegations form part of a wider dispute involving the former P-Square members. He has previously spoken about alleged financial disagreements, royalty sharing and business dealings involving his brothers and Northside Music.
Jude has denied Peter’s financial allegations, maintaining that the issues are before the courts. He also accused Peter of conducting a media trial instead of allowing the legal process to resolve the disputes.
The controversy has attracted reactions from former artistes associated with Square Records.
May D recently hinted that he would share his own experience with the Okoye family, announcing that “Mr May D Part 1” was coming.
Cynthia Morgan has also criticised Jude, alleging that she had difficult experiences while signed to the label. She said she hoped the ongoing court cases would help establish the truth.
The revelations have continued to fuel public interest in the long-running dispute surrounding the former P-Square brothers.
