The Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, made a striking appearance at the 2025 Ojude Oba Festival in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, on Sunday, captivating attendees with her vibrant traditional attire.

In a video shared by X user #Theresa Tekenah, the minister is seen walking elegantly alongside two other women, all adorned in colorful cultural ensembles. Musawa’s outfit featured a rich display of Yoruba textile heritage, complete with elaborate headgear.

The Ojude Oba Festival, held annually on the third day after Eid-al-Adha, is a centuries-old cultural celebration honoring the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona. The event draws thousands of people dressed in regal traditional garments like Agbada, Iro, and Buba, often made from Aso Oke, Sanyan, and Adire fabrics.

Speaking to PUNCH Online, festival observers praised the minister’s presence.

“The Minister looked absolutely regal. Her participation shows real respect for our culture,” said a festival attendee.

Musawa’s visit underscores the government’s commitment to promoting Nigeria’s cultural heritage.

“This festival is a vibrant expression of who we are,” Musawa was quoted as saying. “It’s a privilege to witness and be part of this deep-rooted tradition.”

The day featured the usual fanfare: horse riding, traditional music, cultural dances, and intermittent gun salutes, all paying homage to the rich history of the Ijebu people.
