Aderombi Adedayo, the comedian better known as Dee One, has emerged as the BOOT Party (BP) candidate for the Lagos state house of assembly race.
The former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate announced the outcome of the party’s primaries in a post shared on his Instagram page.
He expressed gratitude to the party’s leadership for trusting him with the ticket to represent the Ibeju Lekki constituency 1.
Dee One also promised residents that if elected, he would serve as a “worker” rather than a boss.
“I want to thank my party, BOOT party, for the confidence in voting for me to emerge the winner of the primaries election for Ibeju lekki constituency 1,” the post reads.
“To Ibeju lekki constituency 1, come 2027 by the grace of God, I will be your worker and not your boss.”
The comedian revealed that despite running on the BOOT Party platform, he and his party plan to support President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a second term in office.
“Also we will be voting our president Tinubu for his 2nd term in office. Everywhere good,” the post added.
Dee One now joins a growing list of Nigerian entertainers eyeing political positions ahead of the 2027 elections.
The comedian first rose to national fame during his brief stint on the BBNaija reality show in 2018, where he was evicted after just 22 days.
Since then, he has remained in the public eye due to his outspoken online criticism and several high-profile feuds with fellow reality stars such as White Money and Phyna.
