According to The PUNCH, a 37-year-old Nigerian based in the United Kingdom, Ademola Oke, has been found dead after reportedly becoming unresponsive at his workplace, marking the third such case involving a Nigerian in the UK this April.

A family friend, Adejonwo Odutola, disclosed through a GoFundMe appeal that the incident happened on April 18, 2026. He explained that Ademola had left home that morning in good health and stayed in touch with his wife throughout the day, with their last WhatsApp message exchanged at 2:08 pm.

Odutola said tragedy struck later that night when a colleague arriving for a shift discovered Ademola seated on a sofa at the service user’s house, unresponsive.

Emergency services were immediately contacted, but he was confirmed dead at the scene.

The sudden death has left his 31-year-old wife devastated and solely responsible for caring for their two young children, aged six and two. Odutola described Ademola as a loving husband and devoted father whose passing has deeply shaken his family and loved ones.

A fundraising campaign was launched to help cover funeral expenses and provide support for the children as the family adjusts to life without him. As of the time of filing, £4,509 had been raised out of the £8,000 target.

The appeal also called on Nigerians in the UK and the wider public to support the family, either through donations or by sharing the fundraiser.

This comes shortly after two other reported deaths involving Nigerians in the UK this month. On April 20, PUNCH Metro reported that a Nigerian father of three, identified as Herbert, was found dead in his apartment in Thornaby, barely a week after a Nigerian mother of three reportedly died of cancer in the UK.
