Russia has renewed its warning to foreign nationals and diplomats in Kyiv, urging them to leave the Ukrainian capital ahead of what Moscow described as further large-scale attacks.

The warning was issued by Russia’s Foreign Ministry on Saturday as Moscow continues its aerial campaign against Ukraine, with Kyiv experiencing increased missile and drone attacks in recent weeks.

The ministry said it had previously advised diplomats and other foreign nationals to leave Kyiv and avoid travelling to Ukraine, but noted that some had ignored the advice.

Moscow said those who remain in the city despite the warning could be putting themselves at serious risk.

“The Russian Armed Forces will continue to carry out massive retaliatory strikes,” the ministry said, adding that anyone who ignored the warning would bear responsibility for any consequences.

The latest statement comes as attacks on Kyiv have increasingly affected critical infrastructure, including energy facilities and bridges.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Friday that the Ukrainian capital needed to operate on a wartime footing, accusing Russian forces of causing widespread destruction through their attacks.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of disregarding international rules governing warfare by ordering strikes that affect civilian areas.

The Kremlin has rejected accusations that its forces deliberately target civilians.

Russia’s latest warning comes amid continued fighting between the two countries, with Moscow maintaining its military offensive and Ukraine seeking to defend its cities and critical infrastructure.
