A GHANAIAN witch doctor who claimed he put a curse on Harry Kane before England’s clash with Ghana has now vowed to “release” the Three Lions skipper so he can score in his next game.
Kwaku Bonsam sensationally predicted before the match that Kane would draw a blank against Ghana and the England captain failed to find the net during a frustrating 0-0 draw in Boston.
The outspoken spiritualist has now declared his work is done and insists Kane is free to get back among the goals.
Bonsam said: “When we talk about spiritual work, I’m the most powerful spiritualist in the world.
“I tied him for the Ghana game and now I’m going to release Harry Kane so that next match he can score.
“Harry Kane, don’t be offended with me, we are friends but I had to do what I had to do. I am releasing you so that next match you can score.
“I have released you now and I thank Kofi Kofi powers and I thank the ancestors of the land. I am the most powerful spiritualist in the world.
“Harry Kane you’re my friend and I just want to say I have now loosed you.”
Whether it was down to supernatural intervention or simply an off night, Kane endured a frustrating evening as England were held by a disciplined Ghana side.
The Three Lions dominated possession throughout but struggled badly to create clear-cut chances against opponents who sat deep and defended resolutely.
England’s passing was often slow and predictable, allowing Ghana to remain compact and organised behind the ball.
And while Thomas Tuchel‘s side enjoyed most of the territory, Ghana fully deserved their point after producing a determined defensive display that repeatedly frustrated England’s star-studded attack.
The result came as a surprise given Kane’s red-hot form heading into the game.
The England captain had struck a brace in his previous outing and arrived in Boston looking to continue his impressive goalscoring run.
Instead, the Bayern Munich striker looked off the pace for much of the contest.
Kane was unable to influence the game in his usual manner, finding himself crowded out by Ghana’s defenders and struggling to carve out meaningful opportunities.
His quiet display summed up an underwhelming night for England, who lacked the cutting edge needed to break down their stubborn opponents.
But if Bonsam is to be believed, England fans need not worry.
The self-proclaimed spiritualist insists Kane has now been “released” and will be back among the goals when England take to the field again.
