Ekiti State Governor and APC governorship candidate, Biodun Oyebanji, says he is confident of securing more than 500,000 votes in Saturday’s governorship election.
Speaking after casting his vote in Ikogosi Ekiti alongside his wife, Olayemi, the governor expressed satisfaction with voter turnout and said the party’s target remained achievable if the voting process continued smoothly.
Oyebanji said the large number of residents who turned out to vote showed that people understood the importance of governance and their role in shaping the state’s future.
He also commended the conduct of the election while urging voters to remain patient with the Independent National Electoral Commission over reported delays and other logistical challenges.
The governor said INEC had assured him that all issues would be resolved and that no eligible voter would be prevented from voting.
The APC had earlier set a target of securing at least 500,000 votes for Oyebanji in the election as it seeks to retain power in the state.
