Ukraine has criticised a threat from Iran suggesting that the country could become a legitimate target over its alleged support to Israel with drone technology.

The warning came from Iranian lawmaker Ebrahim Azizi, who claimed Ukraine had effectively joined the conflict by assisting Israel with drones. Azizi, who heads Iran’s parliamentary committee on national security and foreign policy, said Ukraine had turned its territory into a possible target for Iran.

Ukraine rejected the claim, accusing Iran of hypocrisy. Kyiv said Tehran has been helping Russia attack Ukraine by supplying drones and related technology.

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Heorhii Tykhyi, said Iran citing the United Nations Charter to justify such threats was unreasonable.

Since Russia’s invasion began, Moscow has used thousands of Iranian-made Shahed drones in attacks on Ukraine. Kyiv has since developed strong drone interception systems and has reportedly helped several countries defend against similar threats.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned the United States to evacuate industrial facilities linked to American companies in the region. Civilians living near such sites were also advised to leave.

The warning followed an attack on the U.S. Embassy compound in Baghdad, Iraq, where a Giraffe 1X radar used for counter-drone defence was reportedly damaged.
