The screening commenced after a motion moved by Opeyemi Bamidele, senate leader, to admit the nominee into the chamber.

Oyedele was led into the chamber by Basheer Lado, special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on senate matters.

The nominee entered the senate chamber at about 2:21pm alongside other government officials.

Those who accompanied him include Kayode Ajulo, commissioner for justice in Ondo state, and Tokunbo Kayode, former minister of defence.
