Iran has vowed to retaliate against United States President Donald Trump following the killing of its Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
The Islamic Republic made the threat in a message posted on the social media platform X, declaring that Trump would not escape punishment for what it described as the assassination of Khamenei.
“We will punish Trump for assassinating Supreme Leader Khamenei. We will never let him go,” the statement read.
Khamenei was reportedly killed in an airstrike carried out by the United States with the support of Israel amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The war, which erupted on February 28, has led to several casualties on both sides. Reports indicate that many Iranians have been killed since the fighting began, while at least six American soldiers have also lost their lives.
