At least 31 people were killed and 169 others injured on Friday after a suicide bomber attacked a Shi’ite Muslim mosque in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, according to government officials.

Islamabad’s Deputy Commissioner, Irfan Memon, confirmed that the death toll had risen, adding that 169 wounded victims were taken to hospitals following the blast.
