Ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final, the Senegalese national team has raised serious concerns about security, accommodation, training facilities, and ticketing arrangements in Morocco.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) emphasized that it felt compelled to speak out to protect the interests of the national team after observing multiple lapses during preparations.

The FSF highlighted inadequate security during the team’s arrival at Rabat railway station, warning that players and officials were exposed to risks that fall short of the standards expected for a continental final.

Accommodation arrangements also drew criticism. According to the FSF, formal action was required to secure appropriate lodging, with the team eventually being moved to a five-star hotel to meet recovery and comfort standards.

Senegal additionally rejected the initially proposed training venue, citing concerns over fairness, as the Mohammed VI Complex serves as the base camp for the opposing team. At the time of the statement, the federation noted that it had yet to receive official confirmation of an alternative training site.

Ticketing issues were another area of frustration. The FSF said it had received only two VVIP tickets, while the number of VIP and VVIP tickets was significantly lower than what was allocated during the semi-finals.

Although Senegal purchased the maximum number of tickets allowed by CAF—300 Category 1, 850 Category 2, and 1,700 Category 3—the federation argued this was insufficient for the high demand.

The FSF concluded with a call to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the local organizing committee to ensure fairness, safety, and equal treatment, which it described as essential for the success of the tournament.

Senegal will face off in the AFCON 2025 final after defeating Egypt in Wednesday’s semi-final, aiming to add another continental title to their record.
