Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, had not arrived to cast his ballot as of 10:30 a.m. in his hometown of Agulu, Anambra State, even though election officials were already on ground and accreditation had begun.
INEC personnel reached Umudimakasi, Agulu Ward 2, Polling Unit 008 earlier in the morning and commenced the process without delay. Residents, supporters, and observers gathered at the polling centre in anticipation of Obi’s arrival, but he had not shown up by mid-morning.
Local officials at the unit confirmed that the exercise was running smoothly, with voters already checking in for accreditation.
