President Bola Tinubu has sent his congratulations to candidates who won Saturday’s by-elections across 16 constituencies in 12 states.
A statement by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, said the President praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting elections that were peaceful and largely free of violence.
Based on INEC’s results, the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured victories in 12 constituencies, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) won two, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) each claimed one.
Tinubu also congratulated APC’s new National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, describing the wins as an encouraging start to his leadership. He commended APC governors, leaders, and party supporters for their roles in the success.
The President assured Nigerians that his administration’s Renewed Hope agenda is a genuine commitment to building a safer and more prosperous nation. He also urged all political parties and their candidates to embrace fair play, sportsmanship, and magnanimity as vital ingredients for strengthening democracy.
