Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, participated in Saturday’s local government elections by casting his vote at St. Stephens Nursery and Primary School, located in Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island. He was accompanied by his wife, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, and they both voted around 11 a.m. at Polling Unit 006, Ward E.
The local polls, which kicked off earlier at 8 a.m., aim to elect new chairpersons and councillors across Lagos Island Local Government and other parts of the state. The elections are taking place across all 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas in Lagos.
The governor’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Jubril Gawat, was also among the early voters at the same polling unit.
