The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State has announced the extension of its governorship primary to April 8, 2025.
Originally scheduled for April 5, the new date was confirmed by PDP State Chairman Chidi Chidebe on Saturday in Awka.
“The National Secretariat approved the postponement to complete necessary administrative processes and ensure a smooth exercise,” Chidebe explained. The primary will determine the party’s candidate for the November 8 governorship election.
Chidebe emphasized that PDP is the most peaceful party in Anambra, stating, “With the confusion in other parties, it’s clear that PDP is not the problem.” He urged party members to focus on public and party interests over personal ambitions.
Meanwhile, major parties such as APC, APGA, and Labour Party are holding their primaries today. However, several aspirants have withdrawn from the race in most parties, except APGA, where Governor Chukwuma Soludo remains the sole aspirant.
