The boxing world is in shock following the sudden death of Nigerian boxer, Segun ‘Success’ Olanrewaju, who collapsed during a fight in Ghana on Saturday.

Olanrewaju, a former National and West African light-heavyweight champion, was competing against Ghanaian Jon Mbanugu at Fight Night 15 at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

Olanrewaju was reportedly ahead on points when he suddenly lost consciousness in the ring, leading to his tragic death.

A heart-wrenching video of the incident circulated on social media, shocking fans and the boxing community alike.

“Olanrewaju was not only a talented boxer but a figure of great respect within Nigerian and West African boxing,” said a fellow boxer. “His loss is felt deeply across the sport.”

Tributes have poured in for the late boxer, who made significant contributions to the sport throughout his career.
