Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain progressed through penalty shootouts, eliminating Atletico Madrid and Liverpool respectively.

Arsenal progressed with a 9-3 aggregate win over PSV Eindhoven, with Inter Milan, Dortmund and Aston Villa also progressing.
