Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has announced his departure from the party, bringing an end to his long-standing association with the opposition platform.

Ologbondiyan made the disclosure in a message shared on his X page on Saturday. The notice, directed to the PDP chairman of Okekoko Ward 09 in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, confirmed that he had reached a personal decision to withdraw his membership.

In the letter dated December 5, 2025, he expressed appreciation to the party’s leadership for the trust and opportunities he received over the years. According to him, his exit followed a personal review of his political involvement and contributions within the PDP.

He explained that the decision was not taken lightly but was necessary after reflecting on his journey and future direction.

Ologbondiyan has been a notable figure in the PDP and Nigerian politics. He previously served as the Director of Media and Publicity for the party’s 2019 Presidential Campaign Council and built a strong reputation in journalism before transitioning fully into political communication. He also worked as an aide to former Senate President David Mark, who now heads the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

His resignation adds to the recent wave of major political shifts happening across the PDP as the party continues to navigate internal changes and realignments nationwide.
