A Lagos State governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress, Samuel Ajose, has pledged to mobilise at least 3.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu and the party in the 2027 general elections.
Ajose made the commitment during a Special Easter Service held at the headquarters of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide in Makoko, Lagos, where he addressed a large congregation of worshippers. He said the church community in Lagos had the numerical strength and structure to significantly influence the outcome of the polls if effectively mobilised.
According to him, the turnout at the Easter gathering reflected the voting potential within the church, adding that no serious political actor should underestimate the influence of its members during elections.
The APC hopeful recalled making a similar promise at a political rally he organised earlier at the Nigeria Police College Ikeja, where thousands of residents from across local council areas attended an event in support of Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
During the church service, prayers were offered for the President, national peace, and economic recovery. Ajose also distributed food items to attendees, describing the gesture as part of the Easter message of compassion and sacrifice. He noted that the church headquarters in Makoko holds personal significance for him as his birthplace.
The Easter programme was officiated by the church’s Pastor and Spiritual Head, Rev. Emmanuel Oshoffa.
Ajose’s ambition received additional backing in Badagry, where members of the Women of Badagry Federation declared support for his governorship bid during a town hall meeting.
Speaking for the group, former lawmaker Arinola Onabamiro argued that Badagry deserved an opportunity to produce the next governor of Lagos State based on considerations of fairness and historical contributions to the state’s political stability.
She maintained that the area had consistently supported the party and should be recognised as a key stakeholder in the state’s leadership future. Another APC women leader in the area, Kikelomo Ladipo, assured that voters in Badagry would turn out massively for the party in the next elections.
Ajose, in response, reiterated his promise to operate an inclusive administration if elected governor.
