The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has introduced a 10-day credit facility for fuel marketers, alongside a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) to ₦699 per litre, effective December 12, 2025.
The credit facility, backed by bank guarantees, is designed to support marketers with bulk purchases of at least 500,000 litres. The move comes as part of the refinery’s ongoing efforts to stabilize domestic fuel prices and enhance distribution efficiency.
This marks the 20th petrol price adjustment by Dangote Refinery in 2025, reflecting continuous responses to market conditions and competition with imported fuel. Industry sources say the ₦129 drop from the previous price of ₦828 per litre represents a 15.6 per cent reduction.
Refinery officials confirmed the changes, highlighting that the new measures aim to make fuel more accessible and affordable while supporting marketers’ cash flow. Dangote Group Chairman Aliko Dangote has reiterated that the refinery remains committed to long-term, reasonable pricing despite global market pressures and regional smuggling challenges.
