United States Congressman Riley Moore has reacted to the reported arrest of Mahmoud Adam, a Nigerian man accused of involvement in violent attacks in Plateau State.

Moore welcomed the reported arrest in a post on social media, crediting Nigerian authorities and security cooperation between Nigeria and the United States for the development.

Adam was reportedly arrested on September 12 at a residence in Plateau State. He has been described in reports as a prominent Fulani community leader, while allegations have also linked him to violent groups operating in the area.

Moore described Adam as a terrorist leader allegedly responsible for attacks on Christian communities in Nigeria. However, the specific allegations against Adam and the circumstances surrounding his arrest have not been fully clarified by Nigerian authorities.

The reported arrest comes as security concerns in Nigeria continue to attract attention from US lawmakers, particularly regarding attacks on communities in the country’s Middle Belt.

Moore also acknowledged efforts by members of the US Congress and the Donald Trump administration to strengthen security cooperation with Nigeria, while calling for continued measures to protect vulnerable communities.
