England captain Harry Kane has confirmed that he once played golf with U.S. President Donald Trump after receiving an invitation during a visit to Palm Beach, Florida, about 18 months ago.
Speaking ahead of England’s FIFA World Cup quarter-final against Norway, the Bayern Munich striker described the outing as a memorable experience, saying it was difficult to turn down an invitation from the U.S. president. Kane also praised Trump’s golfing skills, adding that he hopes to still be playing at a similar level when he reaches Trump’s age.
Trump had earlier disclosed the golf outing while speaking to reporters after England’s 3-2 Round of 16 victory over Mexico. He praised Kane as a top footballer and said he enjoyed playing golf with the England captain.
Kane has been one of England’s standout performers at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring six goals and providing one assist as the Three Lions continue their campaign.
