His death was confirmed on Saturday through a statement issued by his former aide, Shamsuddeen Lukman Abubakar, who described the development as a painful loss.

According to the statement, Sule-Katagum died in the early hours of the day after what was described as a life devoted to public service and community development.

The late politician, who also held the traditional title of Wazirin Katagum, previously served as Chief of Staff at the Bauchi State Government House before becoming deputy governor.

He held the office of deputy governor between 2018 and 2019 during the administration of former Governor Mohammed Abubakar.

The statement added that he had already been laid to rest in line with Islamic burial rites, while prayers were offered for the peaceful repose of his soul.

Audu Sule-Katagum is remembered for his contributions to governance in Bauchi State and his service at both administrative and traditional leadership levels.
