Nigerian content creator and actress Amarachi Amusi, popularly known as Ashmusy, has opened up about why she decided to freeze her eggs, saying the move gave her peace of mind about her future as a mother.
Speaking in an interview with Punch, the influencer said motherhood is very important to her, but failed relationships made her realise she could not rely entirely on marriage plans.
According to her, she had been in several serious relationships she believed would lead to marriage, but they eventually ended. The experiences, she said, made her understand that finding the right life partner could take longer than expected.
Ashmusy explained that she first learnt about egg freezing after former Big Brother Naija housemate Uriel Oputa publicly shared her experience with the process years ago.
She added that she carried out extensive research, consulted medical experts and read widely online before making the decision.
The actress said freezing her eggs has removed pressure and fear about age and motherhood, allowing her to focus on her life and career while taking her time to find the right partner.
Ashmusy also reflected on her upbringing, describing her mother as her biggest inspiration. She recalled taking on responsibilities at a young age, which shaped her determination to succeed.
On her career, the actress said she is now focusing more on acting and movie production after years of building her brand through content creation.
