Nollywood actor Zubby Michael has officially stepped into politics after picking up membership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and declaring his intention to contest for a seat in Nigeria’s House of Representatives.
He made the announcement over the weekend in Ozubulu, Ward 5, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, where he also confirmed his interest in representing the Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo federal constituency.
His move comes amid earlier reports linking him with the All Progressives Congress (APC), as several entertainment personalities from the South-East continue to become more active in politics ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The growing involvement of celebrities in party activities has been noticeable in the region, with different public figures aligning with various political groups as campaigns gradually build up.
Political observers suggest Zubby Michael’s entry into the race under the ADC could add more attention to the contest in Anambra State, where political competition is expected to intensify as the elections draw closer.
