The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a major reshuffle in its preparations for the 2026 National Convention, removing Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as Chairman of the National Convention Central Coordination Committee. He has been replaced by former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari.
The party had initially appointed Uzodimma to lead the 73-member committee, which is responsible for overseeing the national convention scheduled for March 27–28, 2026.
Following the reorganisation, Uzodimma has been reassigned as treasurer, while the committee’s membership has been expanded from 73 to 90 to include additional senior party leaders, including Senator Barry Mpigi.
Under the new structure, former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim has been named Vice Chairman I, and Kwara State Governor and Nigeria Governors’ Forum chairman AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq will serve as Vice Chairman II. Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni retains his position as Secretary of the committee.
In a statement posted on the APC’s official X account, National Secretary Ajibola Basiru said the reshuffle followed consultations with party leadership and national stakeholders. He added that the sub-committees of the Central Coordination Committee would be announced in due course.
