The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a detailed timetable for its 2025/2026 internal elections, culminating in the party’s national convention scheduled for March 25–28, 2026.
Announcing the schedule via his verified X account, APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru said the activities, structured according to the party’s constitution, will see the election of officials at the ward, local government, state, and zonal levels.
The process began with the membership e-registration, which ran from December 1, 2025, to January 30, 2026. Notices for congresses at state and Federal Capital Territory chapters are set to be issued on February 2, 2026.
The timeline indicates that the purchase and submission of forms for ward and local government congresses will take place between February 4 and 9, followed by the inauguration of screening committees on February 10. Screening of aspirants will be held from February 11 to 13, with ward congresses scheduled for February 18. Appeals from these elections will be heard on February 19.
Local government area congresses, which include electing three delegates to the national convention one of whom must be female will be conducted on February 20, with appeals on February 21.
At the state level, forms for state executive positions will be available from February 23 to 27, with screenings and appeals continuing into early March. State congresses are set for March 7, with appeals heard from March 9 to 11.
The zonal stage will begin with the purchase and submission of forms from March 12 to 17.
Zonal congresses will be inaugurated on March 18, with screening of aspirants on March 19 and 20, and the zonal congresses themselves scheduled for March 21. Designated zonal offices include Ibadan (South West), Enugu (South East), Rivers/Cross River (South South), Kaduna (North West), Gombe/Bauchi (North East), and Nasarawa (North Central).
Appeals from the zonal congresses will be addressed on March 23.
The APC’s national convention, where top party positions will be finalized, is set to hold from Wednesday, March 25, to Saturday, March 28, 2026.
The party’s leadership said the structured schedule is designed to ensure transparency and orderly conduct of internal elections across all levels.
