Senator Ned Nwoko (APC-Delta North) has threatened to take legal action against what he describes as a continuous campaign of online harassment and defamatory content aimed at him.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his communication team in Abuja, the senator condemned what he called coordinated efforts to spread false narratives about him, warning that such actions are designed to mislead the public and serve hidden agendas.
Sen. Nwoko, who remains focused on his legislative, developmental, and business responsibilities, emphasized that he does not engage with online distractions or fabricated controversies. He cautioned the public about the dangers of supporting wrongful conduct and attempting to manipulate public sympathy through misinformation.
To tackle the issue, the senator has instructed his lawyers to file petitions with the Inspector General of Police, the Director General of the Department of State Services, and the Commissioner of Police in the Cyber Crime Unit, urging investigations and prosecution of those responsible. The statement also noted that digital footprints will be traced to ensure lawful accountability.
Furthermore, Sen. Nwoko called on international authorities, including the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom, to disregard any attempts to manufacture false narratives around his family for personal or political gain. He urged reliance on verified facts and proper legal procedures rather than sensationalized stories.
“Nigerians are advised to ignore the circulating falsehoods and allow the legal system to take its course,” the statement concluded, highlighting the senator’s commitment to dignity, responsibility, and due process.
