The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has denied reports suggesting it has shut down operations, confirming that it supplies about 40 million litres of petrol each day.

In a statement released on Friday by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, the refinery made it clear that production and truck loading have continued without interruption.

The refinery also clarified that the occasional sale of Residual Catalytic Oil is a normal part of its operations, usually involving large volume sales, which explains the recent fuel oil tender.

The management reassured the public that despite rumors, the refinery consistently delivers over 40 million litres of petrol and steady amounts of diesel every day.

As the largest single-train refinery globally, Dangote employs sophisticated maintenance strategies to avoid disruptions, and routine servicing does not impact fuel supply.

In response to concerns about potential shortages or price increases, the refinery challenged those spreading rumors to place orders for up to 40 million litres of petrol and 15 million litres of diesel daily for the next 90 days.

They urged Nigerians to ignore false claims, which they said are propagated by individuals seeking to harm the country’s energy independence and promote the importation of substandard fuels.

The refinery reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and ensuring Nigeria’s energy security with uninterrupted fuel supply.
