Nigerian music superstar Davido delivered an emotional tribute to his longtime manager and friend, Asa Asika, in celebration of Asika’s wedding to his partner, Leona.

In a heartfelt message shared on the day of the ceremony, Davido reflected on their years of brotherhood, struggle, and shared victories — praising Asa’s loyalty, dedication, and the transformative love he’s found with his new wife.

“Asa, today shattered me… in the most beautiful way,” Davido wrote. “Seeing you stand beside Leona, with peace in your eyes and love in your heart — I couldn’t hold it in. Not just because of the man you’ve become, but because of how you became him.”

The Afrobeats singer went on to express gratitude to Leona, who he says has brought out a more peaceful and joyful side of Asa.

“Leona… thank you. For loving him the way we all hoped someone would. You didn’t just join the journey — you became its purpose. You brought him home to himself,” Davido wrote. “I promise, as long as I breathe, I’ll protect what you two have built.”

He described their bond as more than business, calling Asa “my shield. My sanity. My brother in every battle,” and celebrated the fact that they stayed true to their roots despite the fame.

“We didn’t chase the spotlight. We stayed rooted. Loyal to our story, loyal to our people. We didn’t sell out — we carried the culture, even when it felt heavy,” he said.

Concluding his tribute, Davido said the wedding wasn’t just about love — but about legacy and loyalty.

“This wedding… it’s not just love. It’s legacy. It’s proof that we can rise without losing our souls,” he wrote. “We didn’t just make it, Asa. We made it our way.”
