Delta State Governor, Chief Sheriff Oborevweri, has dismissed the state’s Information Commissioner, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, sources have confirmed.

The reasons for the sacking remain unclear, but reports suggest the decision stems from complaints regarding Osuoza’s alleged incompetence in handling the ministry’s affairs.

Dr. Fred Latimor Oghenesivbe, Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communication, confirmed that Osuoza had already been briefed on the matter.

“Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza has been briefed already on the state of affairs,” Oghenesivbe stated. He added that an official announcement would follow shortly.

In the interim, Governor Oborevweri has assigned Charles Aniagwu, the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads), to temporarily oversee the Ministry of Information. “Charles Aniagwu will take over the two ministries (Works and Information) for the meantime,” Oghenesivbe added.

The move is seen as a strategic decision, with Aniagwu, a former Chief Press Secretary and Commissioner for Information under the previous administration, set to resume office on Monday.
