Moses Jituboh, the former Aide-de-Camp to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has passed away at the age of 54 following a brief illness.
A community chief confirmed the news, and an autopsy is currently being planned to determine the exact cause of his death.
Jituboh had a distinguished career in the Nigerian police force, serving as Jonathan’s ADC during his time as Governor of Bayelsa State and Vice President.
He continued to serve as a key member of Jonathan’s security team when he assumed the presidency.
After Jonathan’s loss in the 2015 presidential election, Jituboh returned to his police duties and was even considered for the position of Inspector General of Police.
The Zone 16 Police Command has expressed condolences to Jituboh’s family and the people of Bayelsa State, mourning his passing as a significant loss to both the police force and the nation.
Jituboh joined the police in 1994 and went on to enjoy a distinguished career, ultimately rising to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General, where he led the Department of Research and Planning and the Department of Information and Communications Technology at the Force Headquarters.
The police command praised Jituboh’s unwavering dedication to service, integrity, and the invaluable contributions he made to the force, emphasizing that his legacy will never be forgotten.
They also offered their heartfelt condolences to his family, praying for strength as they mourn the loss of their beloved son.
In related news, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State recently acknowledged the significant impact former President Goodluck Jonathan had on his political career.
At a Service of Songs for the late Madam Ani-Gunn Rhoda Ikiogha, Diri revealed that Jonathan’s decision had a profound influence on his decision not to run for the Senate.
He also highlighted the important role Ikiogha played in his 2023 re-election, a victory that attracted considerable opposition attacks.
