Veteran Nollywood actor Yinka Quadri has opened up about the emotional toll caused by the death rumours that spread about him in June, revealing how it affected his family.
The false report, which quickly went viral, prompted widespread concern among his fans and loved ones.
In response to the rumours, Quadri took to Instagram to clarify that he was “alive and well.” However, during a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, the 65-year-old actor expressed his dismay at those responsible for spreading the false news.
The actor shared that the situation caused unnecessary anxiety and stress for his family, particularly for his children who live abroad.
Although they have regular communication with him, the unsettling news led them to repeatedly check on his well-being.
He recalled, “When I saw the news I said ‘Weldone, you content creators’. Although no one would be happy whenever people spread death rumours about them. But I leave the person behind the rumours to God’s judgment. If the person thinks that causing sadness in people’s families is an opportunity to attain success.”
Quadri continued, “Despite the fact that my children are overseas and we have constant communication every three days, they were like ‘I still spoke to Daddy last week’.” He went on to explain how the rumours led his family to become increasingly worried, prompting them to call several times a day to confirm his safety.
