The Speaker of the House of Representatives Mr. Abbas Tajudeen and the Deputy Speaker, Mr. Benjamin Kalu have felicitated with former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, as he clocks 67.

Speaker Abbas, in a congratulatory message through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, described ex-President Jonathan as a peacemaker, bridge-builder, and nationalist.

The Speaker said ex-President Jonathan has become “a symbol of democracy” who has continued to preach peace and unity across Africa.

He added that the former president has continued to serve his country, Nigeria, even after leaving office.

Speaker Abbas, while wishing ex-President Jonathan more years on earth, in service to his fatherland, urged him to continue with his patriotic service to Nigeria.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Benjamin Okezie Kalu in his congratulatory message, described Jonathan as a remarkable individual and leader who has left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s history, citing his unwavering commitment to public service, unshakeable optimism, patriotism and tireless efforts to improve citizens’ lives.

He highlighted Jonathan’s dedication to the country, noting that his leadership inspired many to actively participate in shaping Nigeria’s destiny.

The Deputy Speaker specifically praised Jonathan’s historic phone call to concede defeat after the 2015 general election, stressing that the action demonstrated his commitment to Nigeria’s democratic growth.

In his birthday message, Kalu expressed deepest gratitude for Jonathan’s selfless service and enduring legacy, wishing him continued good health, happiness, and fulfillment in the years to come.
