A member of the Edo State House of Assembly, Okaka Eric, has indicated that lawmaker Natasha Osawaru—wife of music superstar 2face Idibia—could be forgiven by the legislature if she demonstrates genuine remorse for her recent conduct.

Osawaru, who represents Egor Constituency, was summoned following viral videos showing her in a public dispute with 2face, including a heated exchange on an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze.

During Monday’s plenary session, the House directed her to appear before the Ethics and Privileges Committee within seven working days to respond to allegations of misconduct. Eric told Sunday PUNCH that while Osawaru’s constituents deserve continued representation, the Assembly’s leniency will depend on her willingness to take responsibility.

“The committee’s findings will be submitted to the full House before any decision is made. The House could choose to be lenient if she shows remorse, but we will not pre-empt the report,” Eric said.

Eugene Inegbeboh, chairman of the Ethics and Privileges Committee, confirmed that the panel is on a fact-finding mission. “She was recently delivered of a child, but we expect her to appear and state her case,” he noted.

The controversy erupted after a livestream in which 2face joined former associates Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, who accused Osawaru of exerting excessive control over his personal and professional affairs. The exchange quickly became tense and ended abruptly. Earlier reports also detailed a confrontation in London involving the singer that reportedly required police intervention.

Industry figures have urged caution and support. Filmmaker Charles Novia, who worked with 2face in the 1990s, emphasized that the singer needs personal help, noting that Natasha entered his life after his separation from ex-wife Annie. Content creator Nasboi and talent manager Teebillz encouraged 2face to prioritize emotional well-being, while rapper Jesse Jagz highlighted the importance of his stability for the music industry. Family and relationship expert Praise Fowowe advised the public to respond with empathy rather than judgment, stressing that marital disputes often reflect deeper emotional issues.

While 2face has called for a “ceasefire” from fans and well-wishers, insisting he is fine, Natasha has remained largely silent. Attempts to reach her resulted in brief, non-communicative responses.

Before her relationship with 2face, Natasha was reportedly involved with a man named Paul, rumored to be the father of her son. Investigations by Sunday PUNCH, however, found no verified records confirming this claim.
