Trump Denies Elon Musk Was Briefed on War Plan Against China

- 22 March 2025

US President Donald Trump has denied reports that Elon Musk was briefed on America’s war plan against China during his meeting at the Pentagon on Friday. Trump emphasized that he wouldn’t want to share such sensitive information with anyone, let alone a businessman with interests in China like Musk.

“I don’t want to show it to anybody. You know you’re talking about a potential war with China,” Trump said from the Oval Office. He also acknowledged Musk’s business ties with China, which could pose a conflict of interest if he were privy to such information.

The meeting between Musk and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has sparked curiosity, with some reports suggesting that Musk was being briefed on the US military’s plans for a potential conflict with China. However, both Trump and Pentagon officials have dismissed these claims as “fake”.

It’s worth noting that Musk serves as a special government employee under Trump and has a top-secret security clearance. The Defense Department is also working with Musk’s DOGE to identify fraud and waste within the department. Additionally, Musk’s SpaceX has secured lucrative contracts with the Defense Department, including a $733 million launch contract awarded by the US Space Force in October 2024.
